Maidenhead turned in a top quality
performance tonight thumping Uxbridge 7-1. Their heaviest defeat
of the season.
We played to our strengths tonight with quality passing high on
the agenda. We could have been 3 up within the opening ten minutes
only for the final ball letting us down.
We opened the scoring on 16 minutes when Luke Dexter meet a loose
ball on the edge of the area after a corner and slotted low into
the net.
A minute later Ryan Hazel scored the first of his hat trick when a
met a cross with a fierce header.
5 minutes later Ian Henry added to the tally when he coolly lofted
the ball over the advancing keeper after a neat diagonal set him
free of his marker.
The rest of the half was one way traffic with Simon Fuller
(usually a defender) in the Maidenhead goal sweeping up with
confidence. Our usual keeper, Kieron Hudson is out for the rest of
the season with a shoulder injury.
The second half was more of the same Luke Dexter making it 4-0
when he meet a far post header from the long throw of Chris Ellis.
Ryan Hazel repeated the goal with a near replay when he nipped in
at the near post this time to powerfully header home from a throw
in.
Dan hunt scored the goal of the game in the 67th minute when he
met a loose ball on the edge of the area a lashed an unstopable
shot into the goal going in off the underside of the bar.
Hazell wrapped up the Maidenhead scoring in the 83 minute when he
poached the ball from close range into the net after good work
from Henry.
Uxbridge netted a consolation goal in the 92nd minute when a lapse
in concentration allowed the Uxbridge forward to nip between two
defenders and hit a good drive into the top corner.
This rounded off a good week for the Youth with Youth team player,
Lewis Driver, out on loan to Holyport, scoring a hatrick for the
"port" in their superb win over Marlow United at Flackwell Heath
last night.
Our next game is a home match on Monday night to Windsor and Eton
