We started the season in emphatic fashion
demolishing Marlow with some superb football.
We started brightly and were up for the game from the off. Playing
an attacking 3-5-2 we spent most of our time in the final third. To
our great surprise Marlow took the lead in the 30th minute when
keeper Kieron Hudson failed to collect a cross which was duly
volleyed home from close range.
Thankfully this had the right effect on the lads and we equalised
within 2 minutes Abraham Osho drilled a low shot across the keeper
at an acute angle.
We also missed a hatful of chances to take the lead before half
time.
In the second half we flew out of the blocks with a great Ryan
Hazell through ball finding Osho who drilled the ball past the
advancing keeper within 20 seconds of the restart.
Ian Henry extended the lead from the penalty spot when Ryan Hazell
took a horendous kick to the face within the box in the 55th minute.
It was Henry again who made it 4-1 when he met a great cross from
Driver to volley home in the 61st minute.
Matty Stevenson rattled in the 5th on 75 mins when he hit a nice
outside foot volley from close range from a corner.
Marlow pulled a goal back when Sam Lock was adjudicated to have hand
balled in the area. Although Hudson dived the right way the ball was
just out of his reach.
First team squad member Lewis Driver rounded of a great display at
right wingback with a near post header in the 85th minute.
Next week the Youth are home to Wokingham & Emmbrook in the league
with a 7-45 Kick Off
