The early stages were somewhat frenetic but we
settled eventually, playing some nice flowing football.
Josh Waldron opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a 35 yard
drive.
Five minutes later we could have gone 2 up but for Ryan Hazell (who
has just signed first team forms) to miss the penalty that followed
a foul on Roberto Kehinde.
In the 26th minute we gifted Henley an equaliser when keeper Kieron
Hudson flapped at a corner with the resulting loose ball hammered
home.
We then went flat and had to endure a period of pressure which saw
another gift goal when the defence playing too high up the field
were caught by a glancing header which caught them flat letting the
Henley forward in on goal.
Ryan Hazell levelled the scores with a well taken goal in the 35th
minute.
Henley took the lead again in the 54th minute when we failed to
defend a far post through ball.
With the game fading away I decided to change tactics going three at
the back for the last 8 minutes. This immediately gave us the edge
as we went 3-4-3. With 5 minutes remaining 15 yrs old substitute
George Lock made his debut something to remember when he smashed
home from close range.
Henley clung on for the last five minutes as we relentlessly pushed
for the winner that never came.
