MAIDENHEAD UNITED 2 (0)

AYLESBURY VALE 2 (1)

The Youth team moved into 2nd position in the league tonight in a game that should have seen us secure 3 points but found us coming back from 2-0 down.

We started the game well with James Gisbourne causing havoc in a three man frontline. On the opposite side Lee Barney was also a handful and missed two golden opportunities in the first half.
We conceded on 20 minutes when left wingback Steve Deverall failed to picked up his marker due to poor body shape. The resulting cross was headed home.
George Lock rattled the cross bar and Gisbourne forced the keeper into a couple of saves.
We should have been 5-1 up at half time but for poor finishing. Our % of chances to conversions is just not good enough at present. That said at least we are making and creating the chances..

The second half was a carbon copy of the first as chance and chance again went without scoring only to see us go to down on the break. Our keeper made a bit of a howler but at least he knew his mistake and held his hand up afterward.
We continued to push and Aylesbury continued to hang on. George lock rattled the bar again with a terrific strike on the 80 minute mark. 5 minutes later he volleyed home a great strike from 20 yards.
Sam Lock equalised in the 88th minute with a great far post header. Aylesbury hung on for the final few minutes and were glad of the draw.

Next week we are due to entertain Marlow at York Road. We will be without three of our players who will be representing the County.
