Taylor and Magpies Part Company (26.09.06)

THE Board of Directors  and Manager Carl Taylor have decided to part company by mutual consent. Carl requested a meeting with Una Loughrey and Peter Griffin on Sunday evening to discuss the recent performances of the team and following a further meeting today, it was decided that Carl would not continue as Manager of the club with immediate effective. The Board would like to confirm that, although the performance of the team has not been the standard expected, it recognises the dedication and enthusiasm that Carl has tried to bring to the club and wishes him well in his future career.
Chairman Una Loughrey commented that “on a personal level, working with Carl has been great and we will miss having him as part of the club. He is a real professional and has certainly given 100% to the club, so it is a pity for all concerned that it has not worked out”.
In the interim Richie Goddard will take on the role of Caretaker Manager until a new Manager is appointed.
