Magpies are hamstrung (02.09.05)

MAIDENHEAD United’s injury news continues to be bad, with defender Bryan Smith missing both of this weekend’s matches with a groin injury, while Jody Wainwright was out with a thigh injury.
Smith is hoping to return to action for the Lewes game, but there is more bad news on Jason Cousins, who broke a rib on Saturday, while Lee Kersey has an injured wrist, and Solomon Taiwo limped off just before half-time on Monday.
Striker John Bacon and midfielder Alfie Kamara have signed for the club, while Paul McCarthy, Daryl Wilson and Jason Cousins made their full debuts at Hayes on Saturday.
Bacon, a tall forward, signed from Harrow, a year after he joined Borough from Hayes, but the 21-year-old striker was on Arsenal’s books as a youngster.
Alfir Kamara is a 20-year-old former England under 15 international.
Born in Sierra Leone, Kamara was a regular in the Arsenal youth team, before moving onto Leicester and then Ipswich, before a move to Hornchurch last year.
Paul McCarthy is a talented young keeper signed from Flackwell Heath in the summer.
Nineteen-year-old striker Daryl Wilson is a promising young forward signed in the first week of the season from Hastings United.
Former Dagenham & Redbridge striker Danny Shipp has turned down a move to York Road, and Damon Ming has left the club.
