Former Magpies return to the nest (14.10.05)

RYAN Ashe completed his much anticipated signing from Leyton on Thursday night to return to York Road after an absence of a year.
Ashe originally signed for the Magpies from Northwood in the summer of 2002, having previously had spells at Chertsey Town, Harrow Borough and Ruislip Manor.
After a two-season spell with the Magpies, Ashe moved to Hampton & Richmond Borough in the summer of 2004, and then Leyton, where he was made captain.
Brendan Gallen also looks likely to re-sign for the club, after impressing boss Carl Taylor against Brook House in Tuesday night’s friendly at York Road.
Another former Magpie, Michael Gorman, is also back in training with the club.
The young midfielder suffered a gruesome leg injury when playing for United against Gravesend in 2002, but has now fought his way back to fitness.
