Taylor:
Negative influences will be kicked out (24.10.05)
MAGPIES
boss Carl Taylor has heralded Saturdays battling draw at Weston-super-Mare
as a return to form for his struggling team and vowed to
kick out those who think differently.
The manager was keen to stress the valuable point was a more accurate
reflection of his teams abilities, not the previous two matches
where his side shipped a total of 12 goals. He said: Im
pleased on a basis that, for anybody on the outside, it seems to
have stopped the rot, but I dont think there was any rot
it was a bad week.
The manager added the fact that the defeats to Bognor Regis and
St Albans were the first time Maidenhead United had lost two games
in a row under his reign indicated they were just a blip.
He said: We had to perform after St Albans, when even people
that tend to follow my positive approach might have questioned themselves.
But there was never really any panic. Anyone who is negative
wont be any good around me.
Theyll be out whether thats committee members
or staff.
He added: We could even have won the game on Saturday, but
Im obviously happy in the end to get a draw considering the
players I had out as well.
The manager also felt, with the exception of the St Albans match,
the whole team were actually playing well without getting the rewards
they deserved.
Were still not far away, he said.
Results will take care of themselves anyway if you play well
enough. Were getting a result every three games at the moment,
and if we keep that up and keep playing well, we will finish a lot
higher up the table.
After the trauma of the league, Taylor admitted he was pleased to
be taking on Bishops Stortford in the FA Trophy tomorrow (Saturday).
Were looking forward to having a game at home.
We can go all out for a win, playing a cup type of game.
Were definitely due some luck for the amount of games
we have played well in and not got a result in, he said.
