The best is yet to come says Devonshire (19.12.02)

MAIDENHEAD United manager Alan Devonshire is convinced his team can progress following their excellent back-to-back wins over Boreham Wood and Purfleet.
The United supremo said: “Traditionally we are stronger in the second half of the season.
“We seem to do better second time around against teams. So this bodes well.
“I’m pleased with where we are at the present.”
And Devonshire is also pleased with his team’s performances in the last four games since a low point against Ford.
He said “We have worked on a few things. Every team goes through a blip – just look at Liverpool at the moment.
“Hopefully we have come out the other side. But it’s difficult to know as we have some real testing matches ahead of us.”
Devonshire was refering to the clash away to Sutton United tomorrow (Saturday) and the home fixture against Basingstoke on Boxing Day, kick-off 1pm.
The Magpies’ boss commented: “Sutton have gone second and Basingstoke are fifth. Then we have St Albans after that.”
At least United have nearly a full squad to choose from now with only Ryan Ashe going on to the injury list with a hamstring problem which he picked up during Saturday’s encouraging 1-0 win over Purfleet.
Defenders Steve Croxford, Mark Boyce and Orlando Jeffrey are now fit to play.
