Maidenhead again came from behind to earn a point, their fourth successive draw, although on the Magpies second half performance alone this was a case of two points dropped rather than one earned.

The first half saw the striking livewire of each team, Manny Williams for United and Lawrence Yaku for Hampton, go close in the early stages, Williams denied by a good save by Beaver keeper Matt Lovett, and Yaku stopped by a superb tackle from Mark Nisbet.

Hampton then took the lead in the 27th minute when Yaku capitalised on a momentary hesitation at the centre of the United defence to race clear, latch onto the loose ball, round keeper Louis Wells and slot the ball into the empty net.

It was stoppage time at the end of the first half before the Magpies seriously threatened to equalise, a succession of corners piling the pressure on the Beavers' defence which just about held firm, a fingertip save from Lovett enough to stop a Nisbet shot, Williams picking up the rebound but hitting the post from a tight angle.

After the break it was a game of one half - Hampton's, as the Magpies brushed aside the one dimensional Beavers attacks and set about finding an equaliser.  The goal came in the 58th minute, an Ashley Smith free kick from the left flank being met by a textbook volley from Dwane Lee at the far post.

The rest of the game saw United do everything but score, in the 71st minute a Williams cross from the right found Yashwa Romeo free with the goal at his mercy only for the ball to get caught under his feet allowing the keeper time to recover and collect the eventual shot.  Then with two minutes of stoppage time already played Leon Fisher burst into the penalty area, shrugged off the attentions of a defender and unleashed a shot which cannoned off the crossbar to maintain the deadlock.
